general bookkeeping
We can process your sales and purchase invoices and enter these and your expenses into your accounting software, so you know who you need to pay and how much you are owed. We can assist with credit control if required.
Bank Reconciliation
We are able to link all your bank and credit card statement entries to the relevant transactions, and reconcile these accounts and the petty cash.
Reports
We can provide monthly or quarterly Profit and Loss Account, Balance Sheet and Trial Balance. If you use us for monthly or quarterly bookkeeping on bookkeeping software, these documents will be up to date and can be viewed any time within a few weeks of the end of the bookkeeping period so you can check your up-to-date financial position
Business Administration
We can assist with general business administration services.
VAT registration and Returns
We can register you for VAT if needed and can process your VAT invoices and prepare and submit your VAT return and let you know what you need to pay to HMRC
Payroll
We are able to process employee hours and ensure your employees are paid correctly, and on time and we can tell you how much you need to pay to HMRC.
CIS Returns
We can advise you on the Construction Industry Scheme and the Domestic Reverse Charge. We know how challenging this is and we are on hand to help with your questions when they arise. We can register you as Contractor if necessary and can process CIS sale and purchase invoices, verify subcontractors, issue Payment and Deduction Statements and submit your CIS returns to HMRC each month (and an EPS to reclaim CIS deducted from you if applicable). We can tell you what you need to pay to HMRC.

More about Xero
Mandy Carpenter is a Xero Certified Advisor. Hurst BK is a Xero Bronze partner. We really know Xero well! There are many apps which integrate with Xero and these include the Hubdoc receipt capture app which comes free with the Xero subscription; allowing you to photograph your receipts/ forward emailed invoices and we can see them our end and process them for you. There is the option to connect apps to allow your clients to pay you more easily (eg with a 'pay now' button on your invoices which, incidentally, can be emailed to customers with the touch of a button) and there are even apps to make it easier for you to pay your suppliers in bulk.
Support and Our Client Portal
We are on hand to provide support for any questions or queries you may have. We have Facebook Messenger and WhatsApp, as well as the usual telephone and email. We are also really pleased with our wonderful client portal which we use to send you documents (which can be e-signed) and you can also securely upload your paperwork to the portal.
